Personal service starts before you sail

All excursion participants enjoy a convenient pickup at their hotel. Air-conditioned vans schedule complimentary tranpsortion between Tulum and Playa del Carmen which starts everything on the right foot. Upon arrival in Puerto Aventuras, the starting point of this tour, cruise around and check out the only marina in the Riviera Maya. Take a peek at the million dollar yachts or check out the Dolphin and Manatee exhibits. Explore this gorgeous location before you even leave on the trip!

Sailing the Caribbean in a 42 ft Catamaran

Nothing is left undone on the Fat Cat Tour. Guides and boat crew conduct a short safety briefing as you sail into the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean. Immediately proceeding, the crew is cracking open drinks and serving fresh tropical fruits to set the tone of this tour. Depending on the wind direction, the crew sails either north towards Bahia Ihna or South to Bahia Xpu-Ha. Both locations are glorious, full of tropical fish, and provide stunning offshore views of the famous Riviera Maya beaches. Upon arrival in one the protected bays, the crew will anchor and get you ready for a snorkel experience. The bays provide protected seas making this portion of the trip easy and fun. Life-jackets and snorkel equipment (including sterilized mask and mouthpiece) are provided for both adult and children.

After snorkeling and swimming the crew serves up a picnic lunch on board the catamaran. As the boat heads back towards Puerto Aventuras, and if conditions permit, there is the opportunity for the “brave and adventurous” to jump on the famous “Boom Net”. This exciting adventure is the highlight for many cruisers. Try it out! It is fun, exciting, and a great part of your FatCat experience.

There is time for one last snorkel opportunity near the entrance to marina in Puerto Aventuras. This natural caleta is where the fresh water from the cenotes (subterranean rivers) jet up through the ocean floor. Brackish water, a mix of sea and fresh water, is home to different sealife not seen in the bays.

Notes about this Catamaran tour
