Wonderful day out Added On: October 10th, 2011

We had a fantastic day out with Mitch on the Coba Treasures tour back in February.

The tour was way beyond our expectations in every way. We were a small group which meant there was plenty of opportunity to ask questions. Mitch was a fantastic guide and extremely knowledgable and made it a fun day out.

As well as discovering the delights of Coba, we had a great lunch in a local cantina and a swim in a stunning cenote.

Couldn't have asked for more. We are back to Mexico next February and already picking our next tour!

These two tours made our entire trip to Mexico! Added On: August 15th, 2011

We did two tours while in Playa, Tulum & Beyond and Coba Treasures. Mitch was our guide for both trips and was totally awesome. You will feel comfortable with him from the moment he greets you. The tour van is comfortable and safe to leave your belongings in while you tour the ruins. Beverages and snacks are provided and when they stop for ice in the morning you can grab a wonderful Mexican breakfast sandwich at the little shop. Lunch on the Tulum trip was on a private beach, breath taking and delicious. On the Coba trip we ate in a real Yucatecan Mexican restaurant nestled on a small lake. Swimming in the crystal clear waters of the Cenotes after walking the ruins in an experience you will not soon forget.

These two tours made our entire trip to Mexico. Don't hesitate for a moment to book with Yucatreks. Thank you Mitch for some wonderful memories.

My husband and I along with our 2 pre-teen children went on the Tulum and Beyond Tour in May 2011.  It is undoubtably one of the best days we have ever spent together as a family.  Mitch and his driver were fantastic and could not be any more hospitable.  It truly was an amazing day.  If we ever return to Playa we will definitely book another excursion through Yucatreks!

Chichen Itza and Tulum Added On: April 9th, 2011

The YucaTreks tours to Chichen Itza and Tulum were fascinating and deeply informative about ancient Mayan culture and cultural and architectural achievements.

As a university professor, I will incorporate my experiences and this knowledge to inform my students about the achievements of these ancient native peoples in the Americas, and the consequences of the Iberian invasion of Central America.

The guides at these sites were deeply knowledgeable and informative, and Mitch himself has picked up a great deal that added to the experience.  I enjoyed his open, relaxed manner and determination to show us what life is like in the area.

We spent a long time on each site and gained a good sense of what life must have been like for Mayans, and how they must have looked to the Spanish explorers and invaders who in so many ways destroyed their civilization.

YucaTreks' other destinations showed me glimpses of how the modern Mayans in these areas lead their lives.  Moreover, Mitch made the drives to the sites informative as well, and I appreciated how open he was to conversation on an individual level.

In January 2011 we took the Chichen Itza tour, and the next day the Tulum tour.  Both were beyond our wildest dreams, and most notably, Mitch was absolutely fantastic!  Everything was arranged in advance and went so smoothly, from our visits to the Mayan ruins, to snorkeling in the cenotes, to wonderful meals and snacks.  Mitch made us feel like we were being shown around by a friend.

My wife and I went on the Chichen Itza/ Valladolid Tour with Eder.  We passed up the huge bus group from our hotel to go with a smaller group and with Eder it made all the difference.  We were able to see more of the real Mexico than we ever would have seen with a big bus.  Great trip.

We just returned from our first trip to the Riviera Maya and wanted to thank Mitch for making the Coba tour a definate highlight. The ruins and cenote were amazing, but Mitchs' knowledge (and that of the guide used at Coba) really added to the experience. We've done many tours on other vacations and would not hesitate to recommend YucaTreks. So much better than a bus load of people! Thanks again Mitch.

We loved our Chichen Itza trip. Eder was an awesome leader, filled with tons of information. He carried a smile on his face from 7am to 7pm and made this one of our best days in Playa. The food from the food court in Valladolid was delicious and made the experience of Mexico truly authentic. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone considering. Worth every single penny or peso.

Tulum and Beyond - Should be called Awesome and Be Added On: July 5th, 2010

We did the Tulum and Beyond tour in June, 2010.   It had 4 major activities: Tulum Ruins, cenote, beach, cenote number 2.   We were a couple with 4 teenagers in tow.   The tour could not have been better.   Eder the guide and Pablo the driver were great.   Each stop, especially the ruins and the beach, was incredible.   The kids did not want to leave the Grand Cenote.   Even the food was perfect.   All in all, it was absolutely the highlight of the vacation.   Well worth the cost and I would recommend this tour to anyone.

My husband and I were staying in Playa del Carmen for a week. Before we arrived we had booked the Tulum and Beyond Tour. The small group made for a relaxed pace tour that made a personal experience. Eder never made us feel rushed, was very personable and knowledgeable. The lunch on the beach was so amazing I could have stayed there all day. It was the most gorgeous beach!!! The food was delicious! We knew before the trip that we would plan a private tour of Chichen Itza. After having such a great day with Eder, we booked him to take us on that tour. It was such an amazing day, best day of the trip. We so enjoyed getting to know Eder, and appreciated his hospitality! He never rushed us at Chichen Itza and ended up spending nearly three hours there. We then went to a cenote that was completely underground! He always offered to stop anywhere we wanted to! We also went to a monastery in Valladolid that even gave us a unique opportunity to sit with some locals and watch the Mexico/France World Cup game while sharing in some wonderful food with them! Then we still got to go to the local eatery and enjoy some more amazing local food! It was fun to see Eder so eager to share the delicious delights! Eder is truly a wonderful person that we thoroughly enjoyed spending the day with.

My wife and I took Yucatreks'  Tulum and Beyond tour and had an irreplaceable day on our vacation.  The Yucatreks owner and guide picked us up when and where he said he would, and he delivered everything his website says he will: an air conditioned van for travel, access to unique, exotic locations, lunch on the beach, and a fantastic time.  I would strongly encourage anyone going to Playa del Carmen to book a tour with this company.

Tulum & Beyond with Mitch Added On: May 7th, 2010

In June 2009 my husband and I took the Tulum & Beyond tour. We had an absolutely amazing time, and Mitch was fantastic!  Due to events beyond the Yucatan peninsula's control, tourism was very low at this time. Because of this only one other couple was on our tour, and I was very pleasantly relieved that Yucatreks didn't cancel due to low participation. Both cenotes were beautiful, very different in their own ways. The lunch we had was delicious (although loved Mitch's candor that he's "had better" tortillas before).  The highlight for us was lunch on the beach in Tulum. When they say "private" beach, they mean it. There was no one on the beach but us, and the beautiful white powder sand went on as far as you could see in each direction.

In short, Yucatreks made our visit to Playa del Carmen, MX. I only wish they operated tours in every other destination we'd like to vacation in, we'd book them every time.

Thank you Yucatreks, and thank you Mitch!! (PS: congratulations on your new baby girl!)

All we can say is wow! After researching many options for a day trip off a cruise vacation, we came across Coba and decided that's where we must go. Our main mission was to climb a pyramid. We were picked up on time and brought to Coba way before the masses arrived. Our guide, Eder, did a fantastic job. His knowlege and pride of the culture/history gave us great insight to how sacred this site is. In fact, when it came time to climb the pyramid, we chose not to. It just seemed wrong and disrespectful. Thank you Eder.

After our education, we cooled off at Grand Centoe'. What a unique and amazing place, we had a hard time getting the kids to move along.

It was a memeorable day that we will never forget! Thanks to all!

March 2010 - With only 5 days to spend in Playa del Carmen, we were very choosy about how we spent our time.  Our Tulum & Beyond excursion was a wonderful choice!!  Our group consisted of only 10 folks, plus our excellent guide Eder, and our driver Pedro.  Eder was plesant, funny, extremely knowledgeable about the places we visited, and very patient - we were never rushed and were able to thoroughly enjoy our trip. And the lunch on the private beach was one of the best meals we had on our trip!! If you choose to do a "ruin excursion", be sure to see what YucaTreks has to offer - you won't be disappointed!

This was our 7th or 8th trip to Playa -- losing count.  We had friends who had never been to Mexico -- so we decided to visit Tulum while we were there.
We heard raves about this tour on playa.info -- and I have to say they were all correct!!  Mitch and his driver are great guides and companions, and the pace of the tour is perfect.  The group is small enough so as to enjoy the company, or stick to yourselves.
We had a WONDERFUL day with YucaTreks and we highly recommend this tour.

Our family of four had an amazing day with YucaTreks.  Our two boys, 4 and 6 had a great day of adventrue, climbing Nohoch Mul Pyramid at Coba, swimming in a Cenote and visiting a local home to see their collection of animals.  Our guide Mitch did a fantastic job giving us a few travel tips, as it was our first day in Mexico, and really interacting with the boys teaching them all kinds of things about the Mayans and Mexico.  I cannot forget to mention the lunch either it was one of the best authentic Mexican meal we had on our entire trip.  This tour was much more than just photo ops at  the destinations, we all really learned a lot and got a real perspective on rural Mexican life also.  Thanks again Mitch and YucaTreks for everything.

We had the most awesome day with Mitch and YucaTreks on our trip to Coba.  He was very interesting and answered all our questions plus gave us lots of information about the local culture.  The swim in the cenote was a once in a lifetime adventure.  We would love to take another tour with Mitch and hope we get the opportunity to do so.  We highly recommend the Coba Treasures tour for people of all ages.

My boyfriend and I traveled to Playa del Carmen at the end of December 09.  While our all inclusive offered all of the “same” trips Yucatreks offered, we still booked with Yucatreks and were not disappointed with our choice.  The biggest difference between resort-offered trips and Yucatreks is the personal touch and extra stops Yucatreks is able to offer with their small tours.  Our guide was Mitch and we took the all-day trip to Chichen Itza including a stop at a cenote and Valladoilid.  We were picked up at our hotel right on time and felt welcomed from the start.  Mitch made the long ride to Chichen Itza go by fast by pointing out the fascinating landscape of Mexico- even pointing out ruins on the side of the road as we went.  Because of the small tour format, we were able to ask as many questions as we wanted.  Mitch was very knowledgeable about the history of the area and the culture and people of the area as well.  Mitch took care of all of the small stuff from ticket and guide purchases to food and drinks-so we had no cares during the day!  All of our stops during the day were made truly enjoyable and comfortable by Mitch and Yucatreks.  We enjoyed our tour with Yucatreks so much, that we can’t wait to return to the area to see Tulum and Coba with Mitch and Yucatreks!

Thank you Mitch for the highlight of our vacation to Playa Del Carmen.  We had a wonderful time on the tour to Chichen Itza, the cenote, the incredible meal at the local eatery in Valladolid as well.  I would never again go back to those large tours that take you in a big bus, ever!  The folks that spoke highly of your company YucaTreks on Trip Adviser and Playa.info were right on target about the quality experience of your tours.

Whiile the cost is a little bit more than the big tours, you end up with a much better experience.  We will have memories of this special day.  My son Zachary thanks you for the ice cream you bought him after he fell down at Chichen Itza too.

When we come back to the area next time we will be booking the Coba Treasures tour.
