With a convenient pickup at your hotel, the tour departs from the beautiful marina of Puerto Aventuras, with its million dollar yachts and Dolphins and Manatees exhibits. Enjoy this gorgeous location before you even leave on the trip!
Tour Description
Whether you want to sit and relax all day as the Caribbean coast passes you by, or you want to get involved in the exciting onboard activities, Fat Cat can cater to you. Swim, snorkel or just relax, the perfect half day sailing adventure.
You will be picked up from your hotel by an excellent local transport company in air-conditioned 10 – 15 passengers vans. We provide free pick up from most hotels along the Mayan Riviera, between Tulum and about 15 min north of Playa del Carmen. If not sure of your hotel's location, send us a quick email inquiry. If you are staying in a hotel not included in our normal pick up route, we will still be able to provide transport for an additional charge per person. We will advise you of this at the time of booking. Your pick up time will be confirmed at the time of booking.
The tour begins at 10am with a short safety briefing as we head out of the Puerto Aventuras marina into the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean. The crew serves drinks (alcoholic and non- alcoholic) and fresh tropical fruit as the catamaran heads North towards Bahia Ihna where it passes behind the reef (or South to Bahia Xpu-Ha depending on wind conditions to maximize sailing). Once anchored, you can enjoy excellent snorkeling in these safe, shallow and protected waters.
Life-jackets and snorkel equipment (including sterilized mask and mouthpiece) are provided for both adult and child guests.
After snorkeling and swimming you will climb back on board and enjoy a light picnic boxed lunch. Lunch includes a tasty sandwich, potato chips / crisps, and cake, biscuit or a granola bar.
As the boat heads South back towards Puerto Aventuras, if conditions permit, there is the opportunity for the "brave and adventurous" to jump on the famous "Boom Net".
There is time for one last swim stop near the entrance to the South Marina of Puerto Aventuras where the cool waters from the cenotes (subterranean rivers) jet up through the ocean floor.
The boat returns to Puerto Aventuras at around 2:00 pm.
